Utilikilts – Vancouver Celtic Festival

I came *really* close to buying one of these ‘Utilikilts‘ at the Celtic Festival here in Vancouver this weekend. They had ones with work belts built in, and cargo pockets, and even a camoflauge one that I really liked. In the end reason, prevailed and I decided not to… but I do think they are pretty cool. Good thing they didn’t have a Geek Kilt with built-in iPod controls (like those Burton jackets) or I’m sure I would have caved in.
Other than a Celtic/Irish/Scotish festival, is there anywhere else a self-respecting man can wear a kilt in public?
PS. As an aside, my buddy Silas photographed these guys products for their brochure and catalog. He’s in Seattle, and good, you should hire him.
